Check both limits
A file must fit both the size limit and the duration limit. A compressed hour-long MP3 may fit under 200 MB but still exceed 20 minutes. A short uncompressed WAV may exceed 200 MB. The tool checks these limits before processing; they are protective bounds, not a speed or device-capacity guarantee.
Split in your recording editor
Keep your original and export numbered parts from your existing audio or video editor. Prefer boundaries between sentences. Aim comfortably below the limits, such as 10-minute sections, and note each part’s start time in the original. This website does not include a splitter, so splitting happens before you select a file here.
Process one part at a time
Select a part, confirm playback, set the spoken language, and run recognition. Export the reviewed result before choosing the next part. A new file replaces the working session; there is no batch queue or saved project list. Keep the filename in your notes so each exported passage can be traced to its recording.
Combine with the right time reference
TXT files can be assembled in a text editor after checking boundary sentences. Subtitle times start at zero in each part. If part 2 begins at 10:00 in the full recording, its caption at 00:05 belongs at 10:05 in the full timeline. Shift times in your subtitle editor before merging; renaming or concatenating subtitle files does not apply that offset.
