What can Video to Text do?
This tool reads the audio track in your video. Use it for recorded lessons, interviews, and presentations: check playback, recognize the speech, and review the transcript against the video. It does not read text in images or download video links.

Video to Text: common questions
Useful answers before you begin.
Why does an MP4 fail to load?
MP4 is a container, and its internal codecs can vary. AAC audio in MP4 and Opus audio in WebM have been tested in desktop Chrome. Missing or unsupported audio tracks need conversion first.
Can it read text on screen?
No. The transcript comes from speech, not image recognition. A silent slide does not become a transcript.
Can I paste a YouTube link?
This version reads local files you select. It does not download videos from a URL.
